Room to Grow
Hull Historical is in the middle of a big year. Mid February we expanded by purchasing our Whiskey Flats Shop, formerly B & F Cabinets, at 4936 Ben Day Murrin Road near Whiskey Flats, Texas. B & F Cabinets was established in 1985 and, after 30 years of success, the owner planned to sell the company and retire. Originally the property, machines and tools were set to be put up for auction. However, a former Hull Historical employee who was currently working with B&F informed Brent of the owner’s desire to sell. With just enough time, Brent was able to negotiate a fair price and we purchased the shop in its entirety.
With the additional shop, we went from almost 8,000 square feet to over 23,000 square feet of space. The Whiskey Flats shop is not only spacious and well ventilated; it is stocked with a slew of machinery to get almost any job done. One of the more exciting machines we now have is an Italian-made hydraulic copy lathe. This machine is able to peel, cut and shape intricate wood or metal balusters, table legs and much more in rapid time.
Currently, we have just over 20 projects we are working on. One of the more exciting projects for our woodworkers is a new custom home in Keller. This is going to be a French Country home. The Whiskey Flats Shop is building the windows and doors that will give it the rustic charm the homeowners are looking for. We are thankful to have this new space and are excited for the opportunity it gives us to take on more projects.
